Product information "A6 Notebook with Japanese Binding and Genji Design"
A piece of Japan for your own stories.
The design on the cover shows a scene from the Genji Monogatari (“The Tale of Genji”). The novel dates from the Heian period (794–1185), roughly 1,000 years ago, and is regarded as one of the world’s oldest novels. It is a classic of Japanese literature, written in Japanese script.
The binding is Japanese, too: instead of glue, a visible thread holds the pages together, a technique used in Japan for centuries for notebooks and manuscripts. And paper has a tradition of more than 1,300 years in Japan: washi, the handmade paper made from the fibres of the paper mulberry tree, is flexible yet tear-resistant.
For ideas, a travel journal, sketches or your own novel, a gift for Japan fans and anyone who loves craftsmanship and beautiful stationery. From the museum shop of Europe’s only samurai museum.
