Europe`s one and only Samurai Museum presents the Peter Janssen Collection.
One of the world's largest private collections, with more than 4000 objects includes weapons and armours of the samurai as well as textiles, paintings, woodcut prints, tea utensils and Buddhist sculptures. The catalogue of the permanent exhibition with a contribution by Ian Bottomley introduces the collection and the history of Japanese weapons and armour. 
The catalogue section with numerous color illustrations presents highlights of the collection from the categories of armour, helmets, masks, swords, sword fittings and miscellaneous items. Schematic overviews regarding terminology, a map of Japan and a selected bibliography complete the contents of the catalogue.
