No austere foyer, no information boards that children simply stroll past. Instead: exciting interactive hands-on stations, the Yokai Game, the magic fans, ninjas, holographic projections, fascinating objects and thrilling stories from Japan. Kitsune the Fox
When the children enter the museum, Kitsune is waiting for them. This fox from Japanese mythology is the first stop on the tour and, for many children, the moment when they realise: something is different here. An engaging character who welcomes them and guides them through the museum.
Riddles of the Legends
Then the treasure hunt begins. Over 500 interactive riddles are scattered amongst the objects in the exhibition. Your child will make their way past real helmets, swords and samurai armour, answering questions that encourage them to look closely and, in the process, discover just how much a suit of armour weighs.
The Yokai Game
Several interactive stations await along the way: the Yokai Game featuring ghosts and demons, a holographic drum performance, rotating display cases and other exciting digital interactions.
