1. Data protection basics
The operators of these pages take the protection of your personal data very seriously. We treat your
personal data confidentially and in accordance with the statutory data protection provisions of the
EU General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR).
Our website can be used without providing personal data. Where personal data (for example name, postal
address or email addresses) is collected on our pages, this is always done on a voluntary basis as far as
possible. All of this data is anonymised and will not be passed on to third parties without your express
consent. It is evaluated exclusively for statistical purposes. It is not passed on to third parties for
either commercial or non-commercial purposes.
Your personal data is generally processed only with your consent. An exception applies in cases where
obtaining prior consent is not possible for practical reasons and the processing of the data is permitted
by law. Where we obtain your consent for processing operations involving personal data, Art. 6(1)(a) of the
EU General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) serves as the legal basis.
Your personal data will be erased or blocked as soon as the purpose of storage no longer applies, in
accordance with Art. 17 and 18 GDPR. Data may also be stored beyond this point where European or national
legislators have provided for such storage. Data will also be blocked or erased once a storage period
prescribed by the aforementioned provisions expires, unless there is a need for continued storage of the
data for the conclusion or performance of a contract. Special retention obligations also arise from
Section 257(1) of the German Commercial Code (HGB) and Section 147(1) of the German Fiscal Code (AO).
2. Background to the processing of personal data / server log files
When you visit our websites, our system automatically collects and stores information in what are known as
server log files, which your browser automatically transmits to us. The following data is collected in this
process: information about the type and version of your internet browser, the operating system of your
computer or smartphone, your internet service provider, your IP address, the date and time of access, the
websites from which you reach us, and the websites you visit from our site.
This data is likewise stored in the log files of our system. It is not stored together with your other
personal data. The legal basis for the data processing is Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR. The IP address is stored in log
files in order to ensure that the websites function properly. This data also helps us to optimise our
websites and to safeguard the security of our IT systems. These purposes constitute our legitimate interest
in the data processing pursuant to Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR.
We would emphasise that we cannot attribute this data to specific individuals. Nor is this data merged with
other data sources. Your data is also not evaluated for marketing purposes or similar. The data is erased as
soon as it is no longer required to achieve the purpose for which it was collected, i.e. in the case of data
collected for the provision of the website, once the respective session has ended. If the data is not
erased, your IP address will nevertheless be deleted or obscured so that the accessing client can no longer
be identified.
3. Contact form and email contact
A contact form is available on our website which can be used to get in touch with us electronically. If you
make use of this option, the data entered in the input form will be transmitted to us and stored. This data
is: name, email address, your IP address, and the date and time of the enquiry. The purpose of this data is
to prevent misuse of the contact form and to protect the security of our computer systems and networks.
Alternatively, you can contact us using the email address provided. The legal basis for the processing of
the data that you transmit in the course of email contact is Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR. In this case, the personal
data transmitted with the email is used and stored for the purpose of handling the correspondence. Your data
is not passed on to third parties. The data is erased once the respective correspondence with you has ended.
Correspondence is deemed to have ended when it can be inferred from the circumstances that the matter
concerned has been conclusively resolved. In addition, you may object to the storage of your personal data
at any time. In such a case, the correspondence cannot be continued. A withdrawal can be sent to us in
writing or by email without any particular form (see the controller named above). As a precaution, we point
out that data transmission over the internet in email communication may be subject to security
vulnerabilities. Complete protection of data against access by third parties is not possible.

newsletter. Your data is processed on the basis of Art. 6(1)(a) GDPR.

Your
personal data is transmitted to: our service provider, which handles the subscriptions and the
dispatch of the newsletters.
Transfer of personal data to a third country. There are no plans to transfer
your personal data to a third country or to an international organisation.
Your data is provided via a web application on the internet. The confidentiality, integrity, authenticity
and availability of the personal data cannot therefore be guaranteed. Your data may also be accessed via the
web application in third countries that do not have data protection rules comparable to those of the Federal
Republic of Germany.

subscription.

processing or a contract on data processing exists and the data processing is carried out by automated
means, you may have a right to data portability (Art. 20 GDPR).
Right to withdraw consent
If you have given the SAMURAI Museum consent to processing by
means of a corresponding declaration, you may withdraw that consent at any time with future effect by using
the link contained in the newsletter. This does not affect the lawfulness of the data processing carried out
on the basis of the consent up to the point of withdrawal.
6. Information about your rights
You may assert the following rights: the right of access under Article 15 GDPR, the right to rectification
under Article 16 GDPR, the right to erasure under Article 17 GDPR, the right to restriction of processing
under Article 18 GDPR, and the right to data portability under Article 20 GDPR.

The website embeds map material from Google Maps provided by Google Inc. in order to show you our location.

Google to process your IP address, since without the IP address the Google Maps content cannot be sent to
your browser. The IP address is therefore necessary for the delivery and display of this content. Through
your visit to our website, Google receives the information that you have accessed the relevant subpage of
our website. In addition, the following data is recorded automatically: IP address, date and time of the
request, time zone difference from Greenwich Mean Time (GMT), content of the request, access status/HTTP
status code, the volume of data transferred in each case, the websites from which you reach us, browser and
operating system, and the language and version of the browser software.
This occurs regardless of whether you have a Google user account or are logged in to one. If you are logged
in to Google, your data is assigned directly to your account. Google states that it stores your data as

Terms and Conditions
1. Conclusion of the contract
By placing your order you make a binding offer to us to conclude a contract with you. We may accept this offer by sending you an order confirmation by email or by delivering the goods ordered. A purchase contract comes into effect when we send our order confirmation to you by email or deliver the goods ordered.
When ordering through our online shop, the ordering process comprises four steps in total. In the first step you select the goods you want. In the second step you enter your customer details, including your billing address and, where applicable, a different delivery address. In the third step you choose how you wish to pay. In the final step you have the opportunity to review all of your details (e.g. name, address, payment method, items ordered) once more and correct them if necessary, before submitting your order to us by clicking “Bestellung absenden”.
2. Storage of the contract text
We store the contract text of your order. We will send an order confirmation containing all order details to the email address you have provided.
3. Retention of title
The goods delivered remain our property until all claims have been paid in full.
4. Prices, shipping costs, return costs in the event of withdrawal
Tickets are purchased using the print@home procedure and are sent by email free of shipping charges.
As a rule, we ship goods only within Germany. Orders to other countries are possible on request. Individual shipping costs will be calculated in such cases.
- Orders without posters: 5.50 euros
- Shipping of posters alone: 8.50 euros
- Orders containing both posters and other items: 13.50 euros
For orders containing both posters and other items, the shipping costs for posters and for standard parcels must both be charged, as posters generally have to be shipped separately in order to avoid damage.
If you exercise an existing right of withdrawal, you bear the cost of returning the goods where the goods delivered correspond to those ordered and where the price of the item to be returned does not exceed 40 euros, or where, in the case of a higher-priced item, you have not yet rendered the consideration or an agreed part payment at the time of withdrawal. Otherwise the return is free of charge for you.
5. Delivery terms
Unless stated otherwise in the offer, we dispatch the goods within 3 working days of receipt of payment. In the case of delivery against invoice or payment by direct debit, we dispatch the goods within 3 working days of the order confirmation being delivered, unless stated otherwise in the offer.
6. Payment terms
Payment is made either by advance bank transfer (prepayment) or by PayPal. We reserve the right to exclude individual payment methods. If you choose prepayment, we will provide our bank details in the order confirmation. The invoice amount must be transferred to our account within 10 days. You may exercise a right of retention only insofar as the claims result from the same contractual relationship.
7. Warranty / liability for defects
The warranty is governed by the statutory provisions. Where used goods are the subject of the purchase contract and the buyer is not a consumer, the warranty is excluded. If the customer is a consumer, the warranty period for the purchase of used items is one year.

9. Links to other websites
Where we refer or link from our website to third-party websites, we cannot accept any warranty or liability for the accuracy or completeness of their content or for the data security of those websites. As we have no influence over third parties’ compliance with data protection provisions, you should review the privacy policies offered there separately.
10. Applicable law and place of jurisdiction
German law applies exclusively. In relation to a consumer, this choice of law applies only insofar as it does not restrict mandatory statutory provisions of the state in which the consumer has their domicile or habitual residence. Where the customer is not a consumer, Berlin is agreed as the place of jurisdiction.
