Is the museum open every day?

The museum is open for you every day from 10 a.m. – 7 p.m.. The only exception is December 24th, which is our closing day. You can combine a visit to the museum with a stroll through the charming streets of Mitte and enjoy Berlin’s cultural diversity.

Why should I choose a time slot when buying tickets?

The time slots help us to manage the number of visitors and give you the best possible experience for your visit. This way we can implement our safety and hygiene standards. Time slots also offer the advantage that we can always offer affordable slots. The earlier you book, the cheaper the ticket. You can save even more by buying online. If you want to be independent of the day and time, you can always buy a flexible ticket.

Is there a discount for families?

Yes, there are special discounts for families and children at the Samurai Museum Berlin. In the booking process, select the “Discounted tickets” field and the corresponding discount. Infants under the age of 6 are admitted free of charge and receive a free ticket.

May I take photographs and film in the museum?

Photography is permitted as long as no flash is used. This is to protect the historical exhibits. For commercial photography or special requests, please contact us in advance. Use the tag for social media posts: @samuraimuseumberlin then we can support your posts.

How long does a visit to the exhibition take?

The average visitor spends two hours in the exhibition. It depends on how much time and interest you bring with you. Many visitors stay longer or come to the museum several times to see the more than 900 unique handmade historical pieces in dialog with the interactive media technology.

Are there lockers in the museum?

Yes, there are lockers in the entrance area of the museum. Please lock all bags and liquids in there. You can hang up your jacket or coat in the checkroom.

Can I book guided tours?

There are daily highlight tours through the museum. Using selected objects, you can gain an extraordinary insight into the history and the collection. All your personal questions will be answered: Book admission & guided tour. After the tour, you are welcome to stay in the exhibition and take a closer look at everything.

Which S-Bahn station is nearby?

It’s a two-minute walk from the Oranienburger Straße S-Bahn station to the museum. Hackescher Markt, Museum Island and Alexanderplatz are all close to the Samurai Museum.

Is the museum barrier-free?

You can experience 99% of our exhibition without barriers. An elevator takes you to the second level with a baby carriage or wheelchair. Please contact the ticket office staff – we will help you!
