Hollywood Meets the Samurai

Gelb. Auffällig. Unübersehbar.

22. June, 31. October

Through the end of October, the Samurai Museum Berlin, in cooperation with Madame Tussauds Berlin, is presenting a life-size wax figure of Uma Thurman as the legendary “Bride” from Quentin Tarantino’s cult film Kill Bill.
For this limited-time special exhibition, the icon of film history has been brought from Hollywood to the museum and can be seen for the first time alongside historic samurai armor, masterfully forged swords, and original artifacts from Japanese cultural history.
Visitors will not only encounter one of the most famous film characters of our time, but will also discover the historical origins of many motifs that shaped Kill Bill: masterfully forged swords, the Bushidō code of honor, and the fascinating world of the samurai, whose influence is still felt today in films, TV series, video games, and pop culture worldwide.
This special exhibition combines film history, pop culture, and the world of the samurai in a way that has never before been seen in Berlin.
