This unique cultural experience takes place in the museum’s traditional tea house, offering guests the chance to immerse themselves in the serene, timeless ritual of Chanoyu, the Japanese tea gathering.
After a successful debut last year, this captivating series invites you to discover the profound artistry and philosophy behind the Japanese tea. Led by the esteemed Atsuko Sōto Isoyama-Osiander, a master of the Chado Urasenke School in Kyoto, this gathering offers an authentic journey into Japanese culture. Atsuko dedicated 13 years to perfecting her craft in Kyoto and now shares her expertise as a tea master and consultant in Berlin. She firmly believes that “tea is the elixir of life.”

On May 18, International Museum Day, the Samurai Museum Berlin invites you to an exclusive program:
We are offering free short guided tours on different aspects of samurai culture every hour. Each tour starts on the half hour at 12:30 pm.
Visitors can also gain a live insight into various techniques of Japanese arts and crafts from 12 noon to 4 pm.
Martina and Christoph Kopp – from Schwert Couture – will be our guests and present their skills in the field of sword decorating.

With “George Grosz – The Muckraker”, the Samurai Museum Berlin presents an impressive exhibition of the astute social critic and artist.
Works in the exhibition: “The Muckraker from 1937, the portfolio ‘Interregnum’ (64 sheets), the ‘Self-Portrait with Bird of Prey and Rat from 1940’ (highlight of the exhibition at Musem of Modern Art in NY 1941) & ‘Polarity’ / Apocalyptic Landscape” from 1936.
